Following the Chrisland school rape saga, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of the Salvation Ministries has admonished parents not to buy mobile phones for their children who are yet to be admitted into the higher institutions of learning.
Pastor Ibiyeomie made this statement after the news of an alleged rape of a ten-year-old girl of the chrisland schools broke on the internet.
The pupil was alleged to have been engaged in sexual activities with her peers while she was on a world games for schools in dubai.
The girl is said to have a Likee account where she posts erotic dance videos.
Speaking on the need to preserve the innocence of children, the clergy said, “don’t buy a phone for any child who has not gone to the university. It may sound very awkward. I know you too are civilised, but don’t do it.”
The man of God who further gave reasons for his admonition said, “don’t buy a phone, it is not civilisation, phones and tablets, many things pop up, they use your own, let them use your own phones.”
He then provides a solution to the problem of wanting to communicate with the children whenever parents are away. he said that, “buy a landline and put it in your parlour.”
The rape allegations laid by the mother of the girl is being investigated as the school claimed nothing of such happened on their watch.
However, the school has since been shut down by the Lagos state government until further investigations have been carried out.
